Some cold packs from “Locke Lobster” are present in the club boss’ office. Out of the lot of them, it’s Joe Hardy - Bess’ brawny boyfriend - who uncovers the critical connection. Nancy and her pals had split up, and now Bess Marvin has gone missing. Underneath, it’s a front for distributing drugs, and it ties into the plight of Pete’s dead mother. Their search has brought them to the site of a traveling nightclub, “the Palace of Wisdom.” On the surface it’s an impromptu site for music and dancing which pops up once a year. They’re joined by George’s beau Danica, and Pete, the son of the murdered woman, who Nancy is sweet on. In this case, an investigation of an old murder has brought Nancy back to her old haunt of Bayport with her best friends George and Bess, and the Hardy Boys. There is suspense, danger, a cliffhanger or two, and the famous teen detective tackling some real crime. It involves all of the things which make a great Nancy Drew story. Having skipped October, Dynamite Entertainment’s Nancy Drew series from the creative team behind Jem & The Misfits: Infinite reaches its conclusion.
